There are hundreds of cricket clubs in Trinidad & Tobago, the birthplace of Brian Lara and a host of other famous West Indies cricketers. Matches can easily be arranged against opposition of whatever standard is required - from First Class to Beach Class - however, whilst we play our cricket very seriously we also enjoy entertaining our overseas visitors afterwards, so touring teams are advised to prepare for post-match "batting" as well!

An Easter Tournament, to be played at our most picturesque grounds, has been organised for 2001. It will comprise of eight local and eight foreign teams, each playing six games over eight days, and it is hoped that the Queen's Park Cricket Club will be able to make the Test ground - The Oval - available or the final.

Although the main season is from January to June, we can usually accommodate teams who wish to tour between July and December on the understanding that there is always a chance of some games being washed-out during the this period. Since we do not get many teams visiting Trinidad & Tobago - unlike Barbados - each one is considered special and is treated as such. Each opposition team will usually present a memento of the game for you to take home so it is a good idea to bring along a few inexpensive plaques to exchange.

Having said that much, after-match speeches seldom last more than a couple of minutes and are very informal, so no jackets and ties please!

" Dear Brian,

I really can't thank you enough for your contribution to the smooth running of the tour. My job as manager was made very simple because all the administration was taken care by you. Above all, I really appreciate your company and genuine interest in all cricket and social events. Once again, thank you for your help and support. For many of the guys it was an experience of a lifetime, made so by your assistance. In the words of Mohammed Ali: 'I shall return'.

Best regards

Phil King".
